Why I hate groups at times....

      Sorry about my lack of writing lately, I just have been so busy in RL.  I also just recently moved into a new house in SL, and rediscovered the sheer joy of terraforming.    Now the house is done and back to a new hobby.

     Groups on SL drive me crazy at times.  For a month, I dedicated a pick to group annoyances. 

What is the purpose of a group on sl?  It is simple..promotion.  Designers, club owners and social groups use it to inform their special VIPs of things going on in the group.
 Groups are not for:
1.  Spamming: Yes I know the designer sells Lola tangos but I don't want to hear about the boobies in group chat.  I don't want to hear how great they are or LM to get them.  They don't sell the boobies in the store and telling people to go elsewhere to buy them.....cough spamming.
2.  Ask a question:  Get off your lazy arse and read the group owner's profile.  They tell you whom to contact.
3.  Tell the designer how wonderful they are:  Guess what..probably not online to see it.  Send her/him a notecard, rate them on marketplace or write it on the blog.
4.  Telling us whom to aviod and letting me hear about your drama:  You deserve to what you get in chat then.
5.  Spamming a group with an event at isn't happening  at the group sim but justify it because you do some activites at the sim.

     What I noticed lately, a group is for people to simply get attention.   "Look at me, Look at me"  I was sitting one day and received a message on a popular shoe store group:

           SL Resident : can someone show me which wall had the new CHICCA all colors shoes?  I cant see anything cuz the walls have not rezzed for me yet.

    Are you kidding me?  You bothered a group of over 13,000 people with this message?  Here is a hint ...be patient and you will rezz.   Really, it will happen and then you can buy your shoes. 

    So today, I was sitting around on SL not doing much and the one group im started to light up with ims.  That group doesn't bother me as much because it is meant to be a social group/club.  So after awhile I check the messages and I see what started the discussion:

          Swedish Resident: i was kicked from a job - officilally for low traffic but that is bullshit, it is for reminding of the hiroshima bomb at a sim owned by  a patriotic american.
  
   He was not fired from the place that runs this group, but for the lucky 22,779 people that belong to the group, we got to hear how unlucky this guy was.  Two numbskulls actually responded to him while the rest totally ignored him and discussed other things.  So I was trying figure out why someone would even discuss that while djing, so I read his profile. 
     His second life starts with his name and where he is from.  Then goes into how people tell him he should have many sex partners but he doesnt understand how that works.  He goes on to say because he always ends up alone.  See his picks for more information.   Ok so I do....

        " I almost never phone people.  It is because I feel like I disturb them in the fun or the important things that they have and do.  I appreciate so much when someone contact me and ask me how it is, but i know it happens very seldom as I am a not so very important person.  The only time i expect someone to contact me is when they are extremely bored and no one else is available, and I expect them to leave as soon as any other arrive.

Very often I feel very lonesome, but I have to live with that as I am very unimportant and unwanted.  Sometimes one person or another promise to do something with me, but they usually don't keep it as someone else arrive, and naturally the other is more fun to go with.  I am trying to form a life that has good content anyway despite being unwanted. 
I have never really had a good job. It depends on that no one is willing to contact me when there is something around.  Get a job by a job exchange is nothing to think of, as there is always someone better in that competition." 

    *rolls eyes*  I used to feel sorry for people like that in SL in the beginning.  I understand how depression can get the better of you  but this guy does  not want his life to improve.  Why would you post that and expect people run and call you?  Maybe if you didnt wallow in self pity for once... 
     Well his picks get even better.  He goes on in his profile discussing how he had a girlfriend in SL once but she also had a "Master"  Ok , so you got involved with a woman that was with another man?   " one day he abducted her from my bedroom. "  Even if this woman was wearing a collar with RLV , she was still willing to go.   RLV is built into things like BDSM collars or rings. It gives a person or persons control of your avatar.  The person wearing the RLV can decide how much control to give that person through a particular menu.   For my nonBDSM or D/s friends, RLV can be easily shut off.  All you have to do is uncheck it in the advance menu and relog.   TA DA..no more RLV or "control by the master"  She was taken by her own free will and chose not to return to you.  I can't imagine why..with your pleasant personality and all...
     Then my favorite section....Rules for SL women:

1)  Provide her with land, not the cheap homestad I have, but with lots of prims ,cost 18 000 L$.
2) Give her money for clothes, round 300L$ - 400L$ per day is apropriate
3) Wear and change clotes often, 300L$ - 400L$ per day.
That sums up in about 40 000 L$ per month meaning 150 USD and about 1000 SEK.
Ps if you have more than one add 20 000 L$ per woman.  
PPS Now you understand why I am always alone. J am simply broke and noone to care about.

    After reading that I did realize one thing:  James owes me a lot of "fricken" money. 
          40,000 L x 12 months = 480000 L x 4 years = 1,920,000 L
          40,000 L x 6 months =  240,000 L + 1,920,000 L = 2,160, 000 L
                                   2,160,000 L =  $ 8724.24
          Actually looking at it from a dollar standpoint, he is getting a bargain.  I offered him a payment plan.  I will keep you updated on that one. 
   Finally, I get to the part when he decides to criticize Americans.  Granted, I met a few Americans that I cringe when I think I live in the same country as them.  My point is every country has their flaws and skeletons in their closet.  My point,"Swedish meatball", is that before you criticize make sure you understand all sides of history not just your preceived ideas of history.  You criticize a Vietnam Vet, you have to understand that most were drafted to fight.  That means most didn't CHOOSE to go and when they came back, they were called unjustified names.  So you decide to talk your viewpoints about American aggression against the world, you are going to be called on it.  Yes, I know some Amercans get cocky but even I get upset when someone gets in my face about being American.    By the way, if Japan can forgive the United States for bombings in World War II, I think a guy from Sweden should be able.  Just a thought....
